Dig Of The Day: 90 M.P.H. – Afta Dark (1994)

Atlanta’s 90 M.P.H. were one of a very few groups to release a record on Motown’s short-lived Mad Sounds hip-hop imprint. Afta Dark is from their debut and only album Mackframalama.

The little-known trio didn’t get into the fast, hyper, Florida-style bass music that a lot of Georgia rappers took up in the ’90s. They definitely had potential but apparently released no more material after their debut. They became a bit known for their Mackframalama track, the first, and one of the best on the album.
