Dig Of The Day: Boss – Drive By (Rollin’ Slow Remix) (1993)

Today we got a headboppin’ remix of the original Drive By track that appears on Boss’ debut and only album Born Gangstaz released on DJ West in 1993.

It was first a duo, with the female rapper Boss and her female DJ Dee. The group name stod for Bitches On Some Shit. They were the first act to sign with Def Jam West. Detroit’s own Boss, relocated to LA before being spotted by DJ Quik who stuck her on a track with AMG. Russell Simmons liked the track and promptly signed her to Def Jam West. Her album Born Gangstaz and the Deeper single were fairly successful.

Drive By remix is a B-side of Deeper 12″ single.
