Today we have a true oldschool cat with a supa dupa dope funky soulful beat, one of the pioneers and one of the few early rap artists to release records in the 1970s – Spoonie Gee, with his 4th single titled Spoonie Is Back. Active since 1978, he began releasing pure singles in 1979, released his debut and only album in 1987 which features production from Marley Marl and Teddy Riley, and dropped a few more singles later on.

Spoonie Is Back is released on Sugar Hill Records in 1981.
