Erick Sermon Announces Kickstarter Campaign for New Album

Erick Sermon announced that his eighth solo album will be crowd-funded. Like fellow Strong Islanders De La Soul, Sermon is asking fans to raise $60,000 to record and release the LP. The album will also serve as the first on the new Def Squad Records Sermon is launching.

In a video for the campaign, The Green-Eyed Bandit explains the purpose of the crowd-funding campaign, and outlines what those who donate will receive. On his Kickstarter page, he also says 8 songs are already complete and he plans to add another 3, for a total of 11.

AZ, Redman, Too Short, Styles P, Ghostface Killah, Big K.R.I.T, Devin The Dude, and Kid Capri are some of the confirmed features for the LP. The album also will feature Method Man, Craig Mack & Mr. Cheeks, who join E. Double on lead single Come Thru.
