Brooklyn, NY – May 16, 2012 – “In a time where being lyrical is considered illegal, I continue to give you That Raw” Hip hop recording artist Torae has released the video for That Raw, the latest single from his recently released solo project “For The Record”. Directed by Brian Robinson of Hyerground, the video is a three vignette story set in a time where being lyrical is considered criminal and selling “That Raw” is illegal. Scene one features “Street Hustler” Torae dealing words to a hungry customer in need his finest product. Scene two is set in an abandoned warehouse where product is being bagged up for shipping in this homage to the famous scene from “New Jack City.” In scene three, Torae pulls up to the final meeting spot, where he makes his biggest score yet – an ending that is sure to be both surprising and thought provoking.

Last week Oddisee previewed his Odd Renditions EP with a pretty great re-work of Marvin Gaye’s ’60s Motown classic, “Ain’t That Peculiar” (with a nifty video treatment too). This week the pride of Prince George’s County, Washington D.C. drops the full 4-song EP. It not only features the aforementioned Marvin remix, but further upends expectations (for those seeking a strictly soul do-over affair) by creatively re-configuring material by Bon Iver, Metronomy and K-Os.

Kao Gardenova dobro čuvana tajna, Soundwave Festival uveseljavao je tisuće stranaca svake godine u Petrčanima uz onaj mali dio „odabranih“ koji su nečijom preporukom došli do tog skrivenog dragulja. A zašto mi ostali još nismo čuli o tome? Jer, kako kažu, najljepše tajne najbolje se čuvaju. Već četvrtu godinu za redom, na opće zadovoljstvo svih ljubitelja dobre muzike, predivnog mora i nezaboravnog provoda, željno isčekujemo nove zalaske i izlaske Sunca uz brojne izvođače koji će ove godine nastupiti na Soundwave Croatia festivalu. I sada dijelimo tajnu s vama.

Pet dana, tri pozornice, after partiji u jednom od najboljih klubova na Jadranu te neizostavni boat partiji – dobitna je formula za ljetno druženje, koju ovih dana nekako svi žele iskoristiti. No Soundwave je nešto drugačije. On je proizašao iz čiste ljubavi prvotne dvojice organizatora prema lijepoj i kvalitetnoj muzici, kombinaciji one muzike koju slušate doma kada ste sami i one koja vas tjera na vrištanje dok vam bass prodire u dušu. Njegova tema nije skakanje u prašini i idealiziranje izvođača na pozornici visoko iznad vas, već uživanje na suncu i plaži ili u hladu uz bar, ugodna „kućna“ atmosfera, i nova obitelj kojoj se vraćate svake godine i zaboravljate na svijet izvan nje.

Stoga nije ni čudno da je veliki Reuters prošle godine Soundwave uvrstio na Top10 internacionalnih festivala i to ni više ni manje nego na treće mjesto iza svjetski poznatih Roskildea i Coachelle.

Nastupi počinju već od 13h poslije podne i traju do tek nešto poslije ponoći, te je vrlo vjerojatno da ćete se naći kupajući ispod beach stagea dok Riot Jazz Brass band ima svoj nastup u moru kraj vas ili pjevušiti a capella sa Bonobovom muzom Andreyom Trianom na zidiću kraj main stagea, ako već niste razdrmali Argonaut brod uz trube Outkastove SpottieOttieDopaliscious u potpunom mraku na pučini.

Glavni izvođači koji će vas ove godine držati budnim, rasplesanim i nasmješenim su De La Soul, Fink, DJ Yoda, Plaid, Ghostpoet, Belleruche i pedesetak drugih imena među kojima su Submotion Orchestra, Funkineven, Kidkanevil, Riot Jazz Brass band, Teebs, DJ Kentaro, Hidden Orchestra, Fatima, Kutmah, Anchorsong, Olugbenga (Metronomy), Alexander Nut, DJ Cheeba, Mr. Thing, Flako i mnogi drugi.

Osim novih izvođača ove godine je i lokacija festivala sasvim nova, tako da će Soundwave biti održan u The Gardenu u Tisnom. Oprostili su se od Petrčana i pronašli novi dom u malom dalmatinskom mjestu smještenom na otoku Murteru, za koje smo sigurni da će oduševiti sve posjetioce. Pored toga što se radi o savršenoj lokaciji za festival, Tisno nudi i autentičnost dalmatinske kulture i života kroz gastronomske ponude. Ove godine festival će trajati pet dana umjesto tri, tako da će oni koji žele dulje uživati u muzici, suncu i moru, biti posebno zadovoljni.

Tiki Bar sa terasom na plaži pružat će nezaboravne noći, a i jutra, jer teško da postoji išta bolje od savršene muzike uz kristalno čisto more pod vedrim nebom. Main stage je nešto veći kapacitetom nego prethodnih godina, smješten uz more i predstavlja savršenu pozornicu za live nastupe i DJ setove. Barbarellas noćni klub sa kapacitetom od 1200 do 1500 ljudi nalazi se na 10 kilometara od glavnog sitea. Organizirani su autobusi sa 50 mjesta koji će razvoziti posjetioce festivala svakih pola sata.

Ulaznice za festival mogu se kupiti po povlaštenim cijenama putem Eventima po cijeni od 600kn za 5 dana, odnosno 250kn po danu festivala.

Quake Matthews has returned to the scene with his sophomore release The Book Of Matthew. The track and accompanying music video mark the first solo effort for the Halifax hip-hop artist since 2010’s The Myth.

The Book Of Matthew is available for free download at quakematthews.com. The 11-track project features production from industry heavy-weights like J. Cardim and Tone Mason, and guest appearances from Freeway, Termanology and Canadian R&B crooner JRDN.
