Lil Wayne pleads guilty, expected to serve 8 months in jail

This morning in a Manhattan Supreme Court Lil Wayne pleaded guilty to attempted possession of a weapon in the second degree and agreed to a one year prison sentence which he will do 8 months of in regards to the .40 cal found in a Louis Vuitton bag aboard his tour bus in 2007. The surprise plea spared Lil Wayne who is out on bail a possible 3 1/2-to-7-year prison sentence. The rapper’s DNA was found on the gun, which strengthened the case for the prosecution. Lil Wayne’s lawyer however complained that prosecutors used faulty forensics in linking him to the gun. Sentencing for Wayne is scheduled for Feb 2010.
