Columbia’s ad for Big L’s debut album Lifestylez Ov Da Poor & Dangerous.

Featuring: Big Daddy Kane, Freddie Foxxx, Harmony, KRS-One, Kid Capri, LL Cool J, MC Lyte, Queen Latifah & Run DMC. From the 1991 album Civilization Vs. Technology.

Boasting Blastmaster KRS-1 as it’s executive producer, Civilization Vs. Technology is an all-star project that employs a who’s who of late 1980s and early 1990s rappers from the East Coast. L.L. Cool J, Public Enemy leader Chuck D, Run-D.M.C., Queen Latifah, Big Daddy Kane, Salt-N-Pepa, MC Lyte, Doug E. Fresh, Kool Moe Dee, and KRS himself are among the MC’s featured on this very socio-political album. With an overall message of black pride and black unity (without a lot of separatist rhetoric, thankfully), this release encourages the black family to stay together.

And the seemingly out-of-no-where releases continue. The talented Los Angeles (by way of New Orleans) duo just let loose of a 5 track EP via Twitter. If you’ve yet to hear of these two… imagine Outkast, The White Stripes, The Pharycyde, and Juvenile were all thrown in a giant blender and out came two brothers named Kentrell “Krispy Kream” and Alvin “Rah Almilli” Lindsey.

The description is pretty much on point. Continue reading for the tracklist & download link.

Ovaj uigrani trojac, cijenjen u freestyle svijetu i šire, uvesti će nas u još jednu rasplesanu novu godinu najboljim od house-a, dub step-a, uk funky-a, jazz-a, broken beat-a, fusion-a. Mnogobrojnim ekskluzivnim uradcima potvrditi će progresivnost Kontrapunkta, koji 2010. godine slavi 11. rođendan.

Two blocks away from his Harlem home, 88-Keys sits back and recalls the day Q-Tip introduced him to a little detroiter named Jay-Dee during a Beats, Rhymes and Life recording session. Back in 94, Dilla hasn’t accomplished much yet, but somehow skillz recognized skillz and 88 gave him a beat-tape with his beeper number on it…
