Rest In Peace Leon Haywood

We lost another music figure and a legend who passed away on April 5th, a funk and soul singer, songwriter and record producer who released about dozen albums of his own and was active since 1963 – Leon Haywood – who is probably best known for his 1975 superb hit single I Want’a Do Something Freaky to You, which has been heavily sampled by Dr. Dre and many many others.

Without that track there wouldn’t be mad classics like Nuthin’ but a ‘G’ Thang, The Wash, Rockafella, The I.N.C. Ride, Pollywanacraka and over 30 others… and that’s just one song. Leon Haywood went peacefully in his sleep. He was 74.
