Brooklyn rap stalwart Shabaam Sahdeeq‘s impressive, two-decade long run of releases continues to grow stronger with certified slapper Get It, the lead single off his new Modern Artillery EP.

You’d think spending 20 years in the game would tire an MC out right? Absolutely not! Sahdeeq proves that as he bullies his way through a playful beat from the Amsterdam based producer Big Ape. He weaves together bright bursts of bells and chopped-up guitars into a boom bap instrumental primed for his rapping collaborator, who’s getting his by any means necessary. Amid braggadocio and sharp bits of personal advice for anyone listening, Shabaam Sahdeeq delivers a raw mission statement on what you can expect from his upcoming project: “Want that pure-pure? S-Dubs supplyin’it / So when you hear that bullshit, you ain’t even buyin’ it.”

The Modern Artillery EP is due out Oct. 13 via Dutch/Swedish label Elite Fleet Records.
Four days later, tape heads can pick up a copy for their decks as part of Cassette Store Day. Wax will be out late November.
