Video: Dig Of The Day: Chi-Ali – Roadrunner (1992)

Now, when I think of the year 1992 I get this vintage nostalgic feeling, like it all happened too long ago.. When this track came out I was probably riding my BMX without a care in the world, had no idea about any of this, clueless completely, not knowin’ I’ll be writin’ about that moment 23 years later. Mr. or Mrs. Time, what’s the hurry? These days you gotta be a Roadrunner, as the title of the track goes. The visuals and the sound of it, with a somewhat unique vibe to it inspired me to write the foreword, word up.

Roadrunner‘s oldschool visuals might make you plug in your VHS player to remember how it all went.. You actually had to rewind the tape to the begining and that took some time, remember the sound the player made when rewindin’? Classic. Bronx native Chi-Ali, who was only 15 years old at the time, dropped his debut and only album The Fabulous Chi-Ali on Relativity in ’92. Roadrunner appeared on his debut and was released as a single the same year.
