Video: Dig Of The Day: K-9 Posse – Ain’t Nothin To It (1988)

We have a classic with a dope video to it attached by that undeniable 80’s flavor. Wardell Mahone and Vernon Lynch, Jr. formed the group at Fairleigh Dickinson University in Teaneck, New Jersey. They needed a DJ so they approached Terrence Sheppard in 1988. Ain’t Nothin To It is off ther ’88 debut, after which two more albums followed.

This post is also dedicated to Charlie Murphy who worked behind the scenes with K-9 Posse and is also a half-brother of Vernon Lynch, Jr. (both brothers of Eddie Murphy). On their 1988 self-titled debut, Charlie Murphy was credited as the album’s executive producer as well as songwriter on two songs. He also made an appearance in the video for the duo’s first single This Beat Is Military.

Produced by Bobby “Bobcat” Ervin

RIP Charlie Murphy (July 12, 1959 – April 12, 2017)
