Video: Dig Of The Day: Lauryn Hill / Erykah Badu On Def Poetry Jam (2003/2006)

Today we have a truly unique video from Def Poetry Jam, a spoken word poetry television series hosted by Mos Def and aired on HBO between 2002 and 2007. The series featured performances by established and up-and-coming spoken word poets.

What’s unique is that someone had a brilliant idea and put on a couple of J Dilla beats which fit absolutely perfect throughout the video. In the first half of the video you can see Lauryn Hill‘s Motives and Thought, from 2006 Season 5 Episode 1 and in the second half, Erykah Badu‘s Friends, Fans and Artists Must Meet, from 2003 Season 2 Episode 2.
