Video: Dig Of The Day: Wrecks-N-Effect – New Jack Swing (1988)

Today we have an amazingly dope material for ’88 from Wrecks-N-Effect, a New Jack Swing Hip-Hop group that released numerous singles and 4 albums. Originally composed of K.C., Aqil A-Plus Davidson, Brandon Mitchell and Markell Riley, the group formed in 1988.

When they released their self-titled debut album the following year, K.C. had left and the group had become a trio. Tragically, Mitchell (RIP) was killed in a shooting incident shortly after its release in 1989. The group, now a duo, changed the spelling of their name from Wrecks-N-Effect to Wreckx-N-Effect (the “X” symbolizing the loss of Mitchell)

New Jack Swing was originally released as a single in ’88 and soon it appeared on their self-titled album released in ’89 on Motown.
