Video: Gang Starr @ Yo! MTV Raps 1994 Interview
DJ Premier sure has come along way as a producer since this interview with his partner Guru on Yo! MTV Raps during the release of the album “Hard To Earn”. In this short clip he speaks with Doctor Dre & T-Money about the few side projects he had at the time as a producer who was on the verge of being heavily in demand. It’s funny to see Premier barely able to think of only 4 projects he was involved in then, when year later in 2012 we are able to look back in perspective on his heavyweight catalog. The year of 1994 contains some outstanding side production work by Premier which we can revisit, including Notorious B.I.G.’s “Unbelievable”, his work on “Illmatic” and Fat Joe’s This Shit Is Real Remix.
